Two-time Emmy nominee Jennifer Bassey and Jasper Cole headlining serialized drama podcast, The Church of Mike From Bones Producer David Jeffery and Producer Lance Paul
Kombucha Cure co-stars veteran character actors Jennifer Bassey (All My Children, 27 Dresses, Falcon Crest) and Jasper Cole (MacGruber, Prom Queen, The Rookie) have re-united and are headlining the serialized drama podcast The Church of Mike. In The Church of Mike, Mike MacAuley (Cole) is an ex-hitman turned minister on the run from Chicago’s Polish mob, who seeks redemption as the pastor of a small town church, only to be blackmailed into moon lighting for a local crime boss. Mike sees his current situation with a sense of humor, and views it framed by religion, morality, and delusion in the land of God, Guns and Good ol ’ boys. Mike’s life is further complicated by his opinionated, controlling mother Jan MacAuley (Bassey). The cast also includes, horror icon Bill Oberst Jr., (Criminal Minds), Jeff Kober (Sons of Anarchy, General Hospital), and Darrel Larson (Law & Order, Heartbeat, Mike’s Murder ).
After wrapping co-producing duties for Queen of the South Executive Producer David Jeffery and creator/writer/director Charles Andrew began developing a pilot for a new gritty television series but were sidelined when Covid-19 hit. With the future of production uncertain, they partnered with producer Lance Paul (Kombucha Cure) of Ginger Knight Films and re-worked the series into a serialized podcast. Season one of The Church of Mike, contains eight episodes.
The series will bow on multiple digital platforms worldwide this fall.
